R61 7732-4SG palmrest problem

#1 Post by Roevhat » Wed Aug 06, 2008 11:33 am

Hello fellow ThinkPadG33kz,

I recently got me this new ThinkPad for a new schoolyear, and at first it was brilliant.
There were only the problem with the voltage regulator making electric noise when using battery power - which I fixed in the BIOS.

And then there is the annoying clicky palmrest. [censored] this kills me sometimes. It tends to be there the first 20 minutes of use. Even when only making light pressure, it gives this click noise as if the plastic hits something below, not something I would expect from a ThinkPad! It only happens in the right side, but also when I just press the arrowkeys. I dont know, maybe I am overeacting. Luckily I didnt pay too much for this one, but still, I would like to know if it is "normal", or if I should call Lenovo Support for assistance.

it may be something simple, if you remove the keyboard screws you can pop it up and lift up the plam rest, you should be able to till then , snap it back in place. Easy ...

Thanks for the response - still, if anyone has the same problem, then I would like to hear their story.
