Where to find antenna assembly for A31?

#1 Post by Excalibur418 » Thu Aug 07, 2008 3:29 pm

I got an extra A31 lcd screen that needsa CFL in it anyways, so I thought I'd put in the factory antenna leads before I had it fixed. 2 questions... anyone know the part number (FRU) or were to get it and secondly, what was the member's name on here that repaired the backlight tube at a good price?

You'll need the Hardware Maintenance Manual , the part FRU is 27L0684, I got one from eBay but you could advertise in the Marketplace forum here.

James (Jamiphar) is the member who advertises backlight repairs here - see this thread. The feedback seems very positive.

Before you jump into ordering antenna leads, you need to make certain that you have a LCD lid designed for that. Those are a little different from the others. Also, you are probably aware that there are 14" & 15" LCDs. You can tell the ones designed for the wireless antenna by section with the different plastic that is covered by ridges on the 2 sides.

I did a conversion on one a couple of years ago. It's not difficult, you just need the correct parts.
