R51 motherboard compatibility

Hello everybody:
This is my first post.
Well my dear R51 has boot issues. The IBM screen don't even appear.
So i think is a problem with the motherboard.
Anyway are the motherboards of T41/42 compatibles with R51. I've already seen that the shape and the conectors are on the same place but are they the same sise?

Yes. You would lose firewire on the R51 if you have it.

Or the firewire plug is positioned (Model T4x) on a different place than on the R51?

T4X models did not come with Firewire, some R5X models did. So if your R51 has firewire, you will lose it if you replace your system board with one from a T4X machine.

Is there any differences on the motherboards GPU to have this resolutions?

You should be fine with any T4x mobo. The tawbook includes specifications on/up to T41 and the ltwbook includes more T4x's; both T41/p's, T42/p's, and T43/p's. All 14.1" T4x(p)'s came with either XGA or SXGA+ resolution.
