Reading Blue-Ray DVDs on a R51

Physically, this one should fit in your machine (though officially it is not supported for your machine). However, I don't know whether you need any special drivers (I wouldn't think so) or whether your CPU/GPU set up is powerful enough to play Blu-Rays.
Alternatively, you could get one of those bulky internal BD-ROM drives for desktops and put it in an external USB/FireWire enclosure (or maybe there is already an external BD-ROM drive).
In any case, you'll also need a special software blu-ray player (like PowerDVD or so).

Thanks for the info. I have an ATI Mobility Radeon 9000. Does this help you decide if this expensive drive would work on my machine? No problem with regards to software.

I will look into the other option you mention, going external, since obviously I might be able to use it on my other machines (I have doubts since they are mini-desktops, without embedded GPU).

Here are the (hardware) requirements for PowerDVD to play Blu-Rays. Plus here, you can download a little program that tests your system to see whether you're good to go for Blu-Ray. Other software Blu-Ray players may have similar requirements/tools to check.
