new (to me) A31- recovery disc came with WN 2000...
I bought a new(to me) A31 and bought a bigger harddrive, I have my copy of Windows XP that I want to put on it. However most of the recovery CD's that you buy that put it back "as new" talk about Windows 2000 that was out when the computer was new. Will I have any proublems bypassing 2000 and going straight to XP. I would rather use a recovery CD than have to download each driver because buying used. I really have no idea exactly what is installed on this computer. Thanks for help.

Welcome to the forum!
Your A31 will run XP just fine, make sure you have enough RAM, I'd suggest 1Gb as a starting point.
All drivers are available at Lenovo's website, so once you install your retail copy of XP they can be added, and you get to choose what you want installed which is a far better option IMO when compared to restore disks.
Hope this helps.

New to me....
Thanks, I got l.6 on ram (as much as the literature that I read says my pad supports. My son download a disc with all the drivers on it so I can just put it in the cd player and get them one at a time as I need them. I will just load my XP and do that. Thanks, it is the little things that I am afraid will trip me up, it is nice to have knowledgeable help.
