rundll32.exe 99% hanging, help?! - R50p

#1 Post by burnt_toast » Mon Aug 18, 2008 2:17 pm

I have had my R50p for about 3 months now, after purchasing used have enjoyed it greatly, but recently system process rundll32.exe has been shooting up to near 99% and causing the system to run extremely slow!

Does anyone know of a modern fix for this? I've read about similar issues with other thinkpads, and found this thread on it but it is pretty dated:

Any advice is much appreciated!

get ahold of ms' sysinternals process explorer here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi ... 96653.aspx

you can highlight the offending rundll process, right click to open properties and see a wealth of info. it may give you an idea of a service you can kill off.

I had this same problem on both of my R50p's. The problem is caused by Battery MaxiMiser. Download the latest version from Lenovo.com and install it.

I have done this and problem still persists..

Tried installing system update, but it says it gets interrupted each time.
