Another Dead Battery

#1 Post by invictus » Thu Sep 18, 2008 3:23 pm

Ok, I've got my second dead battery (9-cell) for my Z60m. The first battery went bad almost two years ago and had asked the forum (here's the link) about it. Luckily it was part of one of the battery recalls and it was replaced. Well this time, there's no recall so I'm going to purchase a new one. The only bad thing is that I can't afford to spend $180 for a replacement.

Does anyone know of a reputable dealer on eBay? Looking at various auctions, it looks like most of the 9-cell batteries are anywhere from 6600mAH to 7200mAH, whereas mine is rated at 7800mAH. Plus I'm worried about getting an OEM battery and find my laptop balking because it's not an authenic IBM battery.

Any suggestions? I hate not having my laptop to its full potential (aka always having to have it plugged in)...

Thanks.

Dude I have a Z61T, my battery was also recalled and now, about 2 years later my "new" battery lasts 24 minutes on a full charge. I am sorry but that's just ridiculous. I've owned a T20, T22, T40, and an R60 and everyone has had better battery life on batteries much older than this one. This is the first Lenovo/IBM thinkpad I have owned and except for the battery I have been pleased. Is this just the first indication of Lenovo crapiness or what. I mean batteries aren't that hard to figure out, and make good ones.
