A22m beeps with an optical drive in the UB2K

#1 Post by schen » Wed Sep 24, 2008 8:25 pm

I have an A22m that was repaired this summer with a new screen apparently doesn't like having an optical drive in the UltraBay 2000. It boots fine with a drive in there, but as soon as the machine goes to hibernation, it starts that irritating beep as if the machine had a drive it didn't like plugged in while running. The same thing that it does when I actually plug in a drive while the machine is on... which shouldn't be happening in any case AFAIK. It does go away as soon as the machine is rebooted; at least until it goes to sleep again.

Otherwise, the drive seems to be recognized and acts normally in the machine, both in explorer and in the Device Manager.
