2nd dim LCD - what could it be?

#1 Post by I Use Dial » Mon Sep 29, 2008 8:56 pm

The original LCD on my A31 went bad, so I replaced the inverter, which didn't fix it.

I then swapped out the screen assembly with one I picked up on eBay, seller said he tested it and it worked fine. Had pictures of it on the auction.

I even swapped out the inverter on the second LCD.

Screen is still dim.

Could it be something besides the CCFL or inverter? I also notice that the LED's on the inverter don't come on.

What do the fuses look like? How do I replace them?

They are surface mount devices that looks like resistors. Some have F markings on them. Most have PCB silk screened F1, F2, F3...F17 markings next to them.

Best is to salvage like fuses from scrap boards and piggy back on to the blown fuse.
