Where is the video chip located in the A31p?

#1 Post by cmarti » Wed Oct 15, 2008 7:23 pm

My 10yrs old son A31p is showing some red lines in the screen only when he plays video games (COD 1/2, Battlefront I/II Sims 2), i thing the GPU is loose.

Here is a link for the motherboard, can anyone show me where is the GPU?

BTW, A31p units do not like games...and are likely to show distorted graphics even when the GPU is not loose.

While you have it open and are flipping the planar like a pancake, change the GPU cooling sponges...

A31 GPU is on the top side under the fan next to the CPU. The GPU cooling pad is on the bottom side.
