Dying A31p

#1 Post by iv76erson03 » Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:36 am

My A31p has started getting stuck in standby and won't power on. When I try to start it from an off position, i usually have to try it 4-10 times because the fan will come on and thats it. I have a high pitched whining noise coming from the top left of the machine.

I'm guess this thing has about lived it's life. Anyone see a possible easy fix for this or is it time to start shopping? Thanks.

Take the keyboard of and clean the fan/heatsink. You may just need new fan, or CPU (although the latter option would be the first for me)...

Good luck.
