1802...but no new network card?

#1 Post by sys6x » Tue Oct 28, 2008 6:56 pm

Hi,

I'm checking out my dad's R40 and he has the utterly-famous 1802 error...aka the Unauthorized network card message.

The problem is that...there is nothing in the PCMCIA slot! Unless miniPCI is something internal?

The computer can't boot...so I can't apply any patch :(

Thanks in advance for the help

Hello, the mini-pci card is located under the cover from the bottom of the laptop..... remove it, then you could boot and apply the patch. Then just put it back... And don't forget to check if there are present and properly connected the two antenna wires.
