G & R series differences

I think this is a rather open-ended question, but can someone please summarise for me the main differences between the G and R series TPs or point me in the right direction to find out more? Externally they look pretty similar and I was wondering if this extended to their internal components. Is is possible to cannibalise an R to rebuild a G or vice versa? TIA.

No cannibalism is possible...

G series use desktop CPUs while R series use a variety of mobile CPUs.motherboards are completely different.

Media drives on G series are not swappable, but fixed.

The only interchangeable part are LCDs, and that remains to be proven in practice...

Oh well, back to the drawing board. And I forgot that Rs have a trackpad (ugh)...

Actually I think I meant to ask about the differences between the G series and the A series - doh!

And the answer would be the same...only LCDs are possibly swappable...

Of course, you could interchange RAM and HDD but that's about it...
