disable wireless radio on/off switch. how to?

#1 Post by OxideNOS » Sun Nov 23, 2008 4:49 pm

On my thinkpad z60m. The handy wireless on/off switch on the front of keyboard stopped working(or is loose). Therefore, my internet connection is stuck in "disable state". How do I turn off or make that switch INOP so that I can start using my internet again.

a little confused: the manual, sliding wifi switch is stuck in off mode making your windows connection "dissabled" and you are asking how to make it inoperable? it would seem that it already is.... but, because this is a physical thing, if you wanted switch to remain ON, i would remove slider while connection was up, or simply remove it, and while unit is off without battery in it, use a needle, toothpick to "slide" the internal switch (perferable to use a non conductive material item, like a toothpick, just in case you forget to remove powersource and "poke" tooo far....

in any case, if you would like to totally disable this thing, and the slider is not working @ all, remove the wifi card out of unit: this card is usually located underneath laptop accessible by small panel
