250gb hard drive in a22p?

#1 Post by phr » Sat Nov 29, 2008 12:32 am

I see that newegg has a WD 250GB PATA drive (one of the few PATA drives made that large) for $80 but the reviews mention that some older machines may need a bios upgrade to handle drives larger than 137gb. Does anyone know if the A22p needs an upgrade, and if it does, is a suitable bios available? Thanks.

I don't know about the BIOS, but Service Pack Two or later is required to see hard drive sizes 137GB or larger. Service Pack Four for Windows 2000. Perhaps that's where the confusion lies.

Sure you can use it, my T23 has one installed and no issues here.

I clone the 7K100 that was installed with acronis true image.
