Curiously Strange ??

#1 Post by edgeman99 » Sat Dec 13, 2008 11:42 pm

Please let me know what you think

I replaced CMOS battery because bios would not hold information.

I didn't use for a while but this week I noticed that the system lost

all left mouse controls. Kinda strange that both the keyboard left

mouse and ultranav pad and left clicker do not work. Did I damage

both when replacing battery? Strangly I still get the Bios error ?

I also replaced the hard drive with another from a T40.

If the new CMOS battery is connected properly and the connectors are not damaged on either side, you have a motherboard problem. My guess would be a defective battery, though. Order another one from a different supplier.

As for both left buttons not working, try re-seating the keyboard once again, and playing with UltraNav/Trackpoint setting in BIOS if that doesn't yield results....

Good luck.
