PCI WIFI cards with IRQ issues
I have a specific A31 that will seemingly install either of 2 different WIFI cards (internal), but after a few days or hours, it stops working and has an error 10 in device manager (Device Cannot Start). At reboot the computer says there is a conflict press F1 for setup. The PCI IRQs are set to 11. I have tried to set them to auto, and each to a different number. This is of course just random since I have no idea what I'm doing. How can I go about finding the cause of this problem and eliminate it? Removing the card makes it go away but I am sick of having a PCMCIA card sticking out the side when I have 2 working PCI cards sitting here. My other A31 doesn't appear to have these problems. Neither of these cards are OEM for IBM, but I've never had an 1802 error.

Exactly what internal MiniPCI WiFi cards are you using? If they are entirely different models/brands, then that seems to point to a motherboard or OS issue.
Several other questions come to mind:
- any BIOS revision differences between the two A31s?
- has this just started happening?
- have you tried swapping the hard drives between the two systems and see if the problem follows?

The problem doesn't follow the hard drive. One is a broadcom card and the other is out of a Linksys print server (Atheros, uses WG511 drivers). Both have the latest BIOS. One is a 16meg board and the other is a 32meg board. It had always happened with the Broadcom card, so I grabbed the other card which has been happily working for over a year in another system. I'm away from home so I can't look at anything else.rkawakami wrote:Exactly what internal MiniPCI WiFi cards are you using?
