warranty extension e-pacs for r51 with 1 year to 3

Hi,

can somebody help me out as I've been reading and getting diffrent information concerning the warranty epacs from IBM.

As I'm planning on buying a R51 which only come with 1 year warranty, Id like to know my options concerning the extension to a full 3 year warranty.

Some resellers say, you have to buy/apply the epac within 30 days after purchase of the laptop. Others have said you can upgrade any time within the first year standard warranty.

So whats correct?

My experience is that you can extend the warrant after those 30 days. I extended my warranty on my R51 but forget to "activate it" due to that the saler forget to send me the necessary info. But if you want to be on the safe side, do it within those first 30 days.
