LCD problem

#1 Post by Boricua65 » Thu Jan 08, 2009 8:18 pm

I found this on eBay and was wondering. I have an A31 with the SXGA +IPS installed, including the inverter and the LCD cable all as such. Can I buy this (if I win it) and use the LCD cable to get the SXGA or no?

The reason I'm getting this, I research through here and found the backlight is possibly shot. I am only able to use the TP with a monitor hooked up, but the LCD will not come on.

Only if that assembly contains a SXGA+ LCD. Synoptics is a good seller and they should be able to tell you. XGA and SXGA+ LCDs and cables are different. IPS/Flexview LCDs also use a different inverter.

The LCD cable and the inverter are both SXGA+ (my laptop), but according to the description of the item, it says UGA (eBay seller). That means I won't be able to use the existing cable and inverter with this LCD :( ?

Don't see where the eBay description says it's a UXGA (1600 x 1200) display. Those displays came in A31p systems. If it really came from an A31 and looking at the picture says it's a 15" panel, then these are the possibilities according to the HMM and tawbook.pdf resources:

- SXGA+ IPS uses inverter FRU of 26P8133 or 62P9872, cable FRU of 27L0714
- SXGA+; uses inverter FRU of 26P8132, cable FRU of 27L0682
- XGA; uses inverter FRU of 26P8132, cable FRU of 27L0681
