Z61t Max Memory
So what is the max Z61t memory? I keep hearing its 3GB, but I could swear I've heard a Thinkpader mention that he had 4GB in his.
Z61t - C2D 2GHz CPU - 3GB RAM - 320GB HDD - 14.1" WXGA+ - Intel 950 - Travel Bezel
Re: Z61t Max Memory
Well, Crucial says 2GB. Lenovo says up to 3GB. I know for a fact that some models of these take a Core 2 Duo with a rev. 3 systemboard, so that might imply 4GB RAM would work on those models (with a 64bit OS), but I never tested it when I had one. Use CPU-Z to check board revision.

Re: Z61t Max Memory
I've had 3GB in one of my past ones, so that definitely works. BIOS will likely see 4GB but the chipset will only be able to address 3GB, as seen on T/R/X 60...

Re: Z61t Max Memory
How can you tell the difference between a T60 and T61 chipset? Are Z61's similar to T60 or T61 chipsets? I guess the Z61t is sort of a forgotten model. Heh.

Re: Z61t Max Memory
The only difference I know between the T60 and T61 is the ram limitations, but that is enough to be called a substantial difference to me.
So Z61T is much like the T60. Thankyou
