R61e Celeron runs Vista 64 and Windows 7 Well

#1 Post by asiafish » Wed Jan 14, 2009 6:18 pm

As the subject says. I have the original Celeron M 540 and 2GB of RAM on my bargain basement R61e and have both 64 bit Vista Business (on my main hard drive) and 64 bit Windows 7 Beta 1 on a second hard drive. Both are clean installations and both are speedy and stable even on the much-maligned Celeron. I even can use Aero with smooth and fluid graphics response, though I set all of my Windows installations to Windows Classic out of preference.
"An atheist is just somebody who feels about Yahweh the way any decent Christian feels about Thor or Baal or the golden calf. As has been said before, we are all atheists about most of the gods that humanity has ever believed in. Some of us just go one god further."

Richard Dawkins, 2002
