cd problem R51E - need a keyboard as well

#1 Post by charles mcdaniel » Fri Jan 23, 2009 10:20 pm

I have a problem with a CD rom problem my R51E a few weeks ago it just quit working using CD's but runs fine using DVD's it will run the DVD's just fine but will not read Cd's at all even store bought ones. when i open up my computer and click on the icon for my cd it shows it there but when i open it it just shows empty unless its a dvd then it play and shows up just fine. :help:
anyone have this problem or know of a fix other than to replace the drive. :?:
also anyone got a good working keyboard they want to part with cheap mine works but the right click and the right arrow is out i'd like to replace it.
i've tried E-rape and i'll pass on paying that much for a used keyboard and i really don't want to get a new keyboard for a used computer. :??:
thanks, Charles McDaniel
Thanks, Charles

You can try cleaning the lens with a q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol, but given the symptoms, I'd be prepared to buy a new drive...

What size keyboard are you looking for...14" or 15"...they are quite different when it comes to screw arrangements...
