Need help identifng part from R51

#1 Post by shirl2 » Sun Jan 25, 2009 12:19 pm

I was having a problem with my gpu and taken of the keyboard and top fascia....Somehow a piece of black flexible rubber ( has a round cylindrical piece in the middle) fell out. I have no idea where this goes....can anyone help. Does anyone have a pic of this motherboard. It is from a r51 1836. Thanks

First, this question should probably have been posted in the ThinkPad R, A, G and Z Series sub-forum, and not in the T4x sub-forum...

Next, have you had a look in the ThinkPad Computer Hardware Maintenance Manual - R50/R50p, R51 series? Maybe you will recognize the part there...

This is probably the mic tube installed between the KB bezel and the mic. Some computers have it and some don't.

It fits over the antenna wires right at the end of the cable guide. The purpose is to keep the wires by getting pinched when you install the keyboard.
