How to configure boot from CD

Hello,
I just got a A31p thinkpad and it doesnt have an OP on it. Well I do have an XP disk but when I put it in the only options it gives me to boot from is the hard drive. I looked in the bios and this is what it looks like...

Put the CD-ROM device as first device in the boot sequence. Then your machine should be able to boot from the CD (provided the CD is intact).

It appears from the BIOS screen that the system may be locked from any changes; the first picture shows "cannot be modified in user mode". This is what would normally appear if the system has an active supervisor (BIOS) password and the "Lock BIOS Settings" option "enabled". You will be able to hit the Enter key when prompted for the password and gain "read-only" access to the BIOS but not make any changes.

@jakem91: You should contact the previous owner of the system and ask what the BIOS password was set to. If they cannot provide that information then I would return the system and ask for your money back. Also, the rules of this board prohibits any public discussion on circumventing BIOS passwords.

alright, ill figure it out, yeah I just bought this on ebay for experiments because im going to school for information technology and i kind of thought that was the problem. I might be back for more questions after i get this problem fixed. 8)
