Normal temperature for a R32 ???

#1 Post by Dodge34 » Thu Apr 02, 2009 1:06 pm

Just sarted Speedfan and i've just noticed the CPU is running at 57°C (135°F) I had to guess the highest temp is the CPU one since the other values are quite normal to me (both under 50°C) and I'm a little bit worried, I don't hear any fan noise comming from this computer except when I start it up then when Windows boot, I hear some fans but really quiet, is there anyways to monitor fan speed, seems speedfan can't detect them, maybe I need to install some kind of sensor in them.

My R32 runs hot too, it would lock up after 6 - 8 hours. Yesterday I pulled the heatsink off and found no indication that the heat transfer pad had ever been in contact with the cpu. put some arctic silver paste on it and it seems to be a little cooler.

I can find no sign that the fan is working, no airflow, no fan noise but it might just be that I can't hear the fan over the roar of the fans in my eServer X345, they are loud enough to wake the dead.

I been looking for a monitor for temp, fan, etc but haven't found one yet. I dual boot w2k/debian lenny on it.

If you are running Debian, try gkrellm.
