R61 - GPU problem? nvidia quadro nvs140m (with pics)

Hello hello

I have a question related to a graphic artefacts I encountered on my ThinkPad R61 screen. I bought it in January 2008 and few days ago I started experiencing this problem. After, say, hour of normal working, I saw something like this:



then, I can't see anything after the startup of my machine, no ThinkPad logo, can't go to BIOS setup etc, after I turn it on, I can see only this:



My graphic is nvidia quadro nvs140m - is the problem I'm experiencing the faulty G86 core I 've read about here http://forums.lenovo.com/lnv/board/mess ... ing&page=1 or here http://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia ... ,6121.html ? I'm about to repair it (replace the mobo ?) as I still have a valid warranty, just wanted to be sure it's GPU related...

Looks like GPU to me.

It sure does look like a GPU failure, hope you have some warranty left...
