Z61m Vista Basic Issues

#1 Post by jbraddoc » Sun Apr 12, 2009 12:21 am

I have tried searching the internet, and I am not seeming to find any answers, and Window's own Error and Reporting thing isn't helping either. Since I have had this laptop, it has had various odd issues. Most of them with the way the operating system worked. When I used rescue and recovery to go back to the factory state, XP seemed vary unstable. I haven't had a computer lock up on me as much as this did. I decided I missed Vista anyways and went to Vista Home Basic. I installed an unlicensed version first, then used an un-activated copy of Home Basic upgrade. I then downloaded the drivers I needed and installed them. Holy crow that took for ever. After I got done with that, I started having issues. Every time I boot, I don't not have an issue, whether its explorer crashing, or certain modules not loading, or just flat out having to reboot because it won't go any where.

I am not sure where to go or what to look for. I mean there really couldn't be a problem with the computer, could there? Once the computer is up, it runs flawlessly. Of course, not having Lenovo system update working during this really isn't any help...

Hopefully someone can shed some light. Thanks in advance for any replies.
