Best option is to disable the "startup by system boot" in the programs itself.
Otherwise you can use msconfig: windows > start program > msconfig <ENTER>
Otherwise you can use msconfig: windows > start program > msconfig <ENTER>

If msconfig works for you, fine. I find sometimes the items come back into startup. I now use Windows Defender (a rare time Microsoft purchased a product and did not butcher it). It has a built-in Software Explorer that easily lets you disable a startup item (permanently) or even delete the item.

I use Ccleaner. It has some other good stuff in there too, but MSCONFIG works too.

And the ultimate utility for such purposes -> Autoruns from sysinternals

Try StartupCPL a freebee util that resides in the control panel and lets you deselect whatever registry keys or programs you want.

Re: how do i stop programs from starting w/ windows
I would laso like to disable password manager but i am unclear where it is starting from. It appears to be part of client security solution but i am not sure. I have looked at msconfig, looked in the registry and also tried sysinternals autoruns, i dont see where it is loading from. Does anyone know? I have also looked in add/remove programs and looked in the lenovo system update and it doesnt show up in any of those either. Any clues?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Re: how do i stop programs from starting w/ windows
I guess there should be some setting in CSS regarding password manager. That is more preferable than disabling it from some of the windows admin utilities. You may want to check out windows services though (run -> services.msc), it might be starting as a service (just a guess of me as I don´t use Password Manager). I believe some (long) time ago Password Manager had its entry in msconfig, this seems to have changed since.
