90w vs 65w adapter

#1 Post by scott11 » Sun Apr 12, 2009 10:15 pm

My R61 came with a 65w, and my dock came with a 90w. The 90 is loud, can I used the 65w with the dock?

If it was advisable, Lenovo would have never shipped the dock with 90W adapter. There is pretty much stuff that can be attacked to a dock.
IBM Lenovo Z61p | 15.4'' WUXGA | Intel Core 2 Duo T7400 2x 2.16GHz | 4 GB Kingston HyperX | Hitachi 7K500 500 GB + WD 1TB (USB) | ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 | ThinkPad Atheros a/b/g | Analog Devices AD1981HD | Win 7 x86 + ArchLinux 2009.08 x64 (number crunching)

Maybe your 90W adapter is faulty? I have a few 90W adapters and one 65W adapter (which, BTW, worked very well with my T60p and Advanced Mini Dock) and neither of them makes any noise.

it might be, but my 65 makes noise too, just much quieter. I figure more power, more noise.
