Restore from Windows 7

#1 Post by firenoodle » Mon May 04, 2009 5:57 pm

Hi guys, first time to the forum, thanks in advance for all your help.

I have a R40. recently i got a really bad virus so the computer was pretty much un-usable. so I reformated pretty much everything and I couldnt get the partition to boot up and restore it to factory condition. I tried pressing the blue access IBM button, however i think part of that driver was also taken out when I try to restore it. I have restoration disk from R50 but installing it was not sucessful. So my last resort was installing windows 7 and installing the drivers from lenovo's site, however, i could not get the access button to work and i couldnt get the wireless card to work. Do you know know how i could boot the data in my partition without going through the access button? is it possible to use the R50 disk? Thanks Alot!. and when I install the drivers do i need to boot into safe mode? any help or links to these procedures would be appreciated.

I'm not sure if the R50 Recover Disks will work. I would try, as the disks will prompt you if it detects that it is an incorrect machine. So no harm no foul. You have PM.
