R40 with foreign keyboard

#1 Post by pcengine92 » Tue May 05, 2009 1:32 pm

I have 2 R40 units. One of these (2681 model with 1.6 processor) has a standard keyboard, but with Chinese characters and a very short space bar. I would like to switch out the keyboard to a standard issue, but wanted to know if there would be any issues. I've taken this unit apart once before, so I can swap the keyboard out pretty easily.

You should not have any problems. Once you pull off the foreign language keyboard, use the HMM to determine exactly what you have.

Could be Chinese, Japanese or Korean from the sounds of it.
