CPU upgrade -- IBM ThinkPad R51 2887 MQ6

Dear all,

I've one question in my mind .. can I upgrade my laptop CPU ( right now its Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.70GHz) . I want to upgrade the CPU to higher one , can any one tell me which processors are supported by this thinkpad motherboard (and please suggest which cpu should I purchase )

The board supports up to a Pentium M 765 Dothan, 2.1Ghz. I've never seen an R51 with anything close to that CPU in it, so cooling might be an issue, particularly in a hot climate.

I upgraded my R51 (1836) from a 1.5GHz Dothan to a 2.0GHz and the fan doesn't speed up any more than it did before.

I'm considering the exact same on my R51. Would there be much of a speed difference going from the 1.7 G to the 2.1 G. Seeing a lot of lag when trying to use windows movie maker and when I open task manager the cpu is maxing out 100%. Bit deceiving
however considering I can run Halo farely well.
