Audio issues with wifi?!

#1 Post by jbraddoc » Sat Jun 20, 2009 7:22 am

Okay, so I may have a new one, I am not sure...

When ever there is activity to my wlan card, if I am watching / listening to something, the sound gets distorted, and the video gets choppy. What would be causing this? I think it started after TVSU started working again, and tried to install a new wlan driver?

I do have a lot of torrent traffic on this machine, would that be causing this? (This is for my Z61m.)

Thanks in advance for any replies!

This is likely a power related issue if it affects many different functions. If the computer is still under warranty, try to get Lenovo to fix it.

Audio operates in khz range, video in mhz range while WiFi in Ghz range. So this should not be a emitted interference. Power decoupling capacitor are spread amongst many devices and a single loose capacitor should not create such widespread problem. This leave inductors and power IC's. Both are hard to work on unless you are experienced with these things.
