R60 Video Controller problem.
I am working on an IBM R60 and have run into a problem with the driver for the Video Controller!!!
In Device Manager it shows ?Video Controller and ?Video Controller (VGA Compatible).
I have installed the ATI driver from Lenovo with no change.
Tried to install the Intel driver but it errors out and said “This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.” Setup will exit.
The details for the Video Controller are as follows PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27A6. That makes this an Intel device???
Thanks for any suggestions.

From the sticker on the bottom of the machine, what are the machine type/model numbers?

Re: R60 Video Controller problem.
That is the driver that I get “This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.” Setup will exit.
What am I missing???
I have downloaded that driver 2 times just to make sure and I still get the same result.
Do I need to disassemble the laptop to find out what the video chipset is???
The device instance ID is "pci\ven_8086&dev_27a6" and that is "GM945".
The driver that I was pointed to and that I have tried is for "GM965 and GL960, Intel X3100".
Thanks again for your help.

Re: R60 Video Controller problem.
Took a chance and went to Intel and found the driver there.
It seems to work???
Do you think I should stick with the Intel or go with the IBM one.
Thanks for your help.

Re: R60 Video Controller problem.
Up to you. Try the Intel one, but if you have any difficulties with power management activities, like going into or waking from sleep etc, then use the IBM driver.
