R40 maximum RAM size???

#1 Post by pcengine92 » Thu Jul 02, 2009 2:56 pm

hello, everyone. Just a simple question. I have 2 R40 units, one with a 1.6 GB processor and the other with a 2.0 GB processor. Is the max ram size for each 1 GB as stated on the lenovo website, or can each unit be upgraded to 2 GB?

Thanks for any advice!

What are you doing where you'd need 2GB of memory? I've seen it on a T30, which would be the same setup as the R40, but don't have any firsthand knowledge with the R40.

It depends on your TYPE/Model number.
The 26xx seem to take 1GB, the 27xx seem to take 2GB.

ALL R40 machines (not R40e) will take 2GB PC2100/2700 RAM. Been there and done that.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll just upgrade to 1 gig and leave it at that.
