R40e 2684-HVG Video Memory Share increase

#1 Post by Pookster » Sun Jul 12, 2009 5:02 am

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if it was possible to increase the video memory share on the R40e, as it seems to be the only thing that is holding back from poor old Thinkpad that I've had almost 8 years now.

System:

CeleronM 2.2Ghz
1GB PC2100 Infineon Ram
DVD/CD RW
160Gig HDD
Ciso Aeronet Wifi
USB2 PCMCIA add in card
Gfx: Ati IGP 345M 16MEG :'(

If I could just even up it to 32MB it would probably make all the difference, I can't even watch BBC iplayer without it being choppy as hell.

There has to be a way of doing this, other manufacturer's Bios seem to let them, e.g. Compaq.

Please advise,

Kind regards,

Warren

I'm sorry, but the answer to your question is "no".

You can try updating the drivers, or finding "tweaked" ones that might do a better job than the current one.

Good luck.
