WPA instead of WEP encription for Wireless Adaptor

Hi
I have A31 2652-P5M and want to set up a wireless connection with WPA encryption. is there a way to do that instead of WEP?

Not if you still have the original card installed.

Hello ekdya.
To find out if your TP is WPA capable, you first have to consider the AP. Get into the setup screen for it, often accessd via a URL of 192.168.1.1, your MMV.

Then get into the setup for your WL card. You are on your own, more or less. If this is not possible in your Thinkpad, get a PCMCIA WL device, I am typing at you on a 10 year old i Series 1300 with such a card, encrypted too.

Have at it, not for the faint of hearth but possible. If you do the set up via WL, you might get locked up, I advise using an RJ-45 cable or if not available, an AP reset will get you back to step one.

Keep them TPs going. JP.
