R61e optical drive problem?

#1 Post by cshuy » Mon Aug 31, 2009 4:28 pm

I've been trying to burn audio CDs using the optical drive. Using NERO, I am getting glitchy CDs, but it only really started recently.

Also? It will fail data verification, but only near the end, which is where the glitches show up.

Is it a software issue or do I need to get the optical drive replaced?

You could try some different software to see if that's the issue. CDBurnerXP is free and works well for the basics. You might want to fire up System Toolbox to see if there's anything there.
