IBM R31 Think Pad

I'm looking for the battery charging pin location on an IBM R31 Think Pad. I would like to check the laptop before buying a new battery. Thanks in advance for any help provided on this issue.

What is "the battery charging pin location"?
The place where the DC-jack is?
The layout of the DC-cable connector?
The layout of the battery connectors? Of the battery, or of the mobo?

RealBlackStuff - I'm just trying to determine if the laptop is supplying the correct voltage to charge the battery. I really did not want to purchase another battery if the problem is in the laptop charging cicruit.
