Product: ThinkPad Z61m 9450-HAG [change]
Operating system: All [change]

Original description: T7200(2GHz), 1GB RAM, 120GB 5400rpm HD, 15.4in 1680x1050 LCD, 128MB ATI Radeon X1400, CDRW/DVDRW, Intel 802.11abg wireless, Bluetooth/Modem, 1Gb Ethernet, UltraNav, Secure chip, IEEE 1394, Camera, Fingerprint reader, 6c Li-Ion batt, WinXP Pro

The only difference originally was CPU, Core Duo vs. Core 2 Duo, and that's swappable on these machines.

I don't know whether it's the same, but interchangeable it must be.

As I said, the only difference to begin with was the CPU, and either of these can be used on any of these boards.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

You're thinking in the right direction. Swap the CPU and you'll have plenty of spare parts left, which is a very good thing when you own a Z series machine.

Good luck.
