R60: Speaker Volume VERY Low - Headphones OK

I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is a fix.

Sometime back the audio coming from my speakers became very low. If I plug in some headphones the audio is just fine. So for some reason either my speakers aren't getting enough signal or the speakers themselves are bad.

I'm running XP Pro and all drivers are fine. It's a hardware problem, not software.
