drive shows like USB at taskbar

proudly I find the IBM R61i laptop and its have gr8 features.
but some stupid thing that I do with him and start this problem
that is my cd/dvd drive becomes look likes usb and its shows at task bar.
anybody can easly(safely) remove hardware and drive should be gone.
this mistake starts when I shrink the disk and I change the letters.
any solutions?
