They are different laptop models, that use the same RAM as yours, except they all take 2x 1GB RAM.

ok been a while but here is where im at...the computer ran fine however at only half of the memory sticks capable memory....so i decided to send them back...and because it was an error on newegg site for the missunderstanding they did not charge me any fee and gave me a full refund i just have to pay for shipping...however now my labtop messed up so ill be while before i get things running right.

I just want to thank all the friends on Forum.Thinkpad for the useful hints and suggestions for upgrading the ram on my new (!) R40e.
Great job folks ! that's the way a REAL community should work !
