R51 (1836 H9U), per Lenove website it should have one installed. In Bios I have the option to enable or disable it.
I downloaded just about every driver and its still not working.
Is there a step I am missing.
Also got the owners manual and all it says is to press FN+F5 an all should work.
But it is not.
I fixed my problem by downloading the Lenove Tool Box and Thinkpad System Update, which that allowed the system to do automatic updates. Still didn't work, but on a Lenovo forum, one forum posted said to download a file called "Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection". Once I download that, it automatic started working.

The correct driver is here:
http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... wc05ww.zip
After downloading it, you must go into C>Drivers>Win >Wlanint and run the setup file from there.
You will also need hotkey drivers installed for Fn+F5 to be enabled.
Hope this helps.

Nope still didn't work.
If a card wasn't installed, there wouldn't be a option in the BIOS setting, right?
I also have a MAC Address (Internal LAN) in BIOS
I also have a yellow ? mark, on something call Network Controller, that I can't seem to find a driver for.
When I delete it, then restart my computer, is states "NEW HARDWARE FOUND", but thats about it.
I also try the manual installation, in add hardware. Comes back as "Cannot intall this Hardware" The hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary sofware.
I am running a genuine XP w/SP3 on a new harddrive. I got the system without a HDD and software.
Thanks,
Steven

Go to: http://halfdone.com/UKD/
and download the unknown devices program. Unzip it and then run it, this will tell you the name of the device that you are looking for. It will also give you the names of anything else you don't have a driver for.
