So, I took a chance on an A31P on a flea bay auction. Couldn't help myself
Turns out the unit has the pink / red screen at startup, OK, that's a ccfl tube, that can be fixed, or live with it. But I noticed a very slight screen flicker when the screen refreshes. A long directory listing and anything that causes the screen to refresh causes a slight flicker.
Is this a sign of the dreaded GPU problem (I figure it is, but hoping for the best).
-Edit-
Now that the battery is up to full steam, the slight flicker has gone away. Go Figure

Hooked it up to my TV and looks great. Still have the pink on start up but it goes away. According Everest Home Edition, this is a Phillips IPS screen mfg date of 1999, so no shame for it. Looks like I need to start looking for a CCFL replacment.
