Flexview Pink tint and slight flicker

#1 Post by gb_ibmguy » Wed Dec 02, 2009 6:12 pm

So, I took a chance on an A31P on a flea bay auction. Couldn't help myself

Turns out the unit has the pink / red screen at startup, OK, that's a ccfl tube, that can be fixed, or live with it. But I noticed a very slight screen flicker when the screen refreshes. A long directory listing and anything that causes the screen to refresh causes a slight flicker.
Is this a sign of the dreaded GPU problem (I figure it is, but hoping for the best).

-Edit-

Now that the battery is up to full steam, the slight flicker has gone away. Go Figure :? Hooked it up to my TV and looks great. Still have the pink on start up but it goes away. According Everest Home Edition, this is a Phillips IPS screen mfg date of 1999, so no shame for it. Looks like I need to start looking for a CCFL replacment.

Change the inverter along with the CCFL and you'll be good to go.

Good luck.
