WPA2 encryption on Thinkpad R51e

#1 Post by jdagis » Sat Dec 26, 2009 9:43 pm

I'm trying to connect to an Airport network running WPA2 encryption, and am having no joy. Can a Thinkpad R51e using xp pro service pack 3 handle WPA2 encryption?
Would someone please point me in the right direction as to how to get this to work.

What's the 7-character model number of your R51e?

Ok, one of my googles turned up this answer which works.
The network password (encryption) is different for PCs than it is for Macs. Putting in the Mac password will not work for a PC. You have to have access to the mac that set the encryption.
In the Airport Admin Utility, go to the Base Station Menu and look at the Network Equivalent Password and it will give you the PC version of that.
