4 Port USB Hub Doesn't work.....?

#1 Post by papillon » Sat Jan 02, 2010 7:59 am

Happy New Year everyone!
I have an R40 2682KCU and can't figure out why usb memory sticks work ok when plugged into a usb port but don't when connected via a 4 port hub.
When I plug a hub in (I've tried several different types, cheap to expensive), I get a message with the headline:
'Hi speed usb device attached to a non hi-speed hub'.
Below, it says:
'The usb mass storage device is a HI SPEED USB device and will function at reduced speed when plugged into a non-HI-SPEED port'
The USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller is listed along with 6 USB Root Hubs and a recommendation that 'The usb stick is removed from its current port and connected to one in bold type' - none of which are.......
Any ideas would be gratefully received,
Thanks,
papi

The messages you are receiving would occur normally if you plug a USB 2.0 hub into a USB 1.1 port. Since the R40 has USB 2.0 ports then there is something wrong with them. Follow the advice given by ajkula66 in this thread -
