R61i HDD upgrade question

#1 Post by c0r5a38 » Tue Jan 05, 2010 3:38 pm

I am preparing to upgrade my R61i (7732-CTO) hard drive from the base 100g/5400 to an Hitachi 320g/7200. Can someone direct to some clear documentation with details on how to accomplish this? The directions on the Lenove site appears kinda skimpy. I plan on utilizing Apricorn EZ Upgrade. Also is the recommendation to upgrade the bios before any steps are taken? Thanks.

I don't upgrade the BIOS unless I've got a reason to do so. I'm not familiar with Apricorn. I use True Image myself. Shouldn't you be looking for instructions on their site?

Thanks for your reply. The Apricorn directions seem straightforward - basically just clone the old drive. I am a bit murky on the physical aspects of removing & inserting the drives.
