Z60t and HL-DT-DS rw/DVD GCC-4246N combo drive issue

So, I have this Z60t I just bought 2nd hand. Its mostly working great, just a minor issue with the Combo drive attached to it.

The drive is hl-dt_st rw/dvd GCC 4246N and it will only stay closed when there is media in the drive, otherwise, it pops open every time you shut it.

I could keep a blank cd in it, but i'd rather not in the long term. Has anyone seen this issue before, or have any idea what it might need to fix it? Is it going to need replacing?

Also, what does it mean when the battery light is still blinking orange at 65% charged? Time for a new battery?

Try another battery, that's the only way you'll know whether the problem is there or in the charging circuit itself.

As far as the media drive goes, I think it's time for a replacement.
