2 gig ram stick warranty

#1 Post by Me2 » Wed Apr 28, 2010 8:16 pm

I bought a 2 gig stick of ram for my r61e. I recently found out it was faulty. Is there any way to find out if this ram is still under warranty? The receipt sent with the ram does not show a date and I can't find anything on the lenovo website that seems to be of much help.

Who is the manufacturer? Many RAM manufacturers provide a lifetime warranty. If you recently bought the RAM from Lenovo, call them and ask if it is under warranty.

What if the RAM is faulty that came with the computer and the computer is out of warranty?

I called however what they said was that since my machine (laptop) is out of warranty but the Ram is under warranty I would need to fax them. Does this sound correct? I mean the ram isn't even in the computer now and it didn't come with the computer.

Fax them what, your original invoice? I suppose that is a fair request ... if you want your RAM replaced.
